Many interesting things to see on the island. these were in the old fort and a few small museums.

A number of relics where misidentified, but that was ok with me. The axes and celts were not specific, only ID'd as tools. The notched ovate bannerstone listed as a fishing spacer.

Lots of history both sides of the Straights there!

Winter camps. Accounts of stores(corn) ect. buried.
Algonquin pushed out of Georgian Bay by the Iroquois (quite an old nucleus of a site) into the area and splintering into what would become the 3 fire confederacy.
But I suspect other confederacies existed too. Multiple type lithics (arrowheads from woodland (?) period found together in same context 80 plus miles apart in the lower penn. for example.)

Jesuits eventually.
Marquette and Jolliet exploring .
Traffic going East to West and West to East. (Wisconsin to Detroit for one nations pleas for help that pretty much fell on deaf ears and they returned.)

Then too traffic caused by varied reasons that followed both sides of the state below.

Sniff the breeze good before you leave.
To the West as you face North is Superior country (as in lake Superior) ,the Keweenaw and it's ancient copper history. And more.
