Wow those are awesome! It's been a long while since such fine specimens of Scat-Thode have turned up. Truly a great find. I recommend that you ask a geological specialist to examine those for you, they would most likely be able to provide you with a rough estimate of their value..

I have never ever heard the term 'scat-thode'! Does that mean 'similar to corprolite'? DOn't know if that one in the back *is* corprolite, but it sure looks like it could be, doesn't it. I'm wondering if that big botryoidal (sp?) on the left has some fire agate in it under that chalcedony -- or if the pseudo corprolite is one big fire agate?

chalcedney? that's what the white looks like to me. & perhaps the back one too.

Looking at my book, it says white to gray, brown, blue, black & clear red to brownish red. so it covers a wide variety of colors. Chal often times looks like plastic that's been melted. I love finding this stuff.

What you have are quartz nodules besides the elongated one. The elongated one is a elongated Septarian nodule. This explains the "veins" in the rock. Great specimens.

Thanks Brian....will have to go look that up....Septarian nodule...nice! So now we know it's not poop...is that good or bad....guess it's just a matter of taste....that sounds weird, sorry
