HELLO, I AM A LITTLE NEW TO THE SITE, AND AM STILL TRYING TO GET MY PROFILE TOGETHER. IT IS STILL A LITTLE COLD HERE IN NORTH ALABAMA, AND HAVENT DONE ALOT OF HUNTING IN THE PAST FEW YEARS, BUT I MANAGED TO GET SOME LEAD OUT OF THE GROUND, I AM NOT SURE WHAT THE SQUARE SHAPED PIECE OF LEAD IS, BUT IT IS IN MY COLLECTION OF WHATSITS FOR NOW. THE ROUND BALLS IN THE PIC SEEM TO HAVE A STEM ON THEM, IT MAY BE FROM THE MOLD THEY WERE POURED IN, H.H TO ALL.

Welcome to T-Net.

Hope you don't mind but i re-sized your pic.

Nice lead.

edit to add: That square piece looks like the lead that they sew into curtains to make them hang straight.

Nice digs! The stem on the round ball is commonly called the "sprue" and is, like you say, leftover from when it was poured in the mold. Usually they were clipped off flat with the base.

The other piece is a hem weight, used to weigh down the bottoms of a ladies dress so it wouldn't flare up in the wind. Keep up posting and welcome to TNet!

Nice start to detecting. WTG. Welcome to T-Net HH.

Yes, as said, its both of the above Hem/Curtain weight & would have been round.

Try to take yours Caps off, looks like your shouting.

:hello: from the UK & welcome to the 2md most adictive thing in life....

Welcome to Treasurenet, our home away from detecting. Those are some interesting looking finds.
It's cold and ground pretty frozen here in Illinois. So I just come here and look the cool stuff others are finding. Keep trying, your doing a good job at it, and if you have any questions, we will try answering them the best we can.
:hello: :hello:HH in 2010 :hello2:
