What a collection! I found a bar with a P on it years ago. I wish it was platinum, never had it tested. Anyhow

Re: Some of my MD collection (1969-2007)

Sorry, I had wrote a whole bunch and it got deleated because I forgot to resize my pic. I found it in Fort Ord Cal. about 8 months ago, I almost threw it away but didn't cause it was so heavy. Fort Ord is an old army base that shut down about 10 years ago. Do you think that is what it is? and what do you think it might be worth? I saw that and couldn't believe it! Thanks, david831

Thanks for your interest! I am not sure what it is, but the lab at American Motors, (Kenosha WI) , could not tell what it was and they would have certainly known if it was lead or something like that, so hold on to it just in case. I went to a coin show in my area and some one told me that it was not platinum, but wanted to buy it from me for $10, hmmmmm? HH!

P.S. Besides, why would they pour a cheap metal into a fancier mold like that, which makes it look like an ingot?

Thanks History Hunter, yes I will keep it just wondering where a person can go to get it tested, on the outside it does look like lead but put a small scratch and it's very shiny. Anyway nice collection I am new to the forum and hopeing soon to post a good find! :icon_sunny:

Joe, here is a pic I just took at the bank, it's not the greatest, but a better view.
