If anybody has any info about the button or the cub scout, boy scout badge like the age or any details please let me know.

That is a Cub Scout neckerchief slide. I believe that particular emblem might be for Tiger Cub Adult Partners/Den Leaders. Lots of nice other finds there too!

thanks, wish it wasn't raining right now. I would be out finding more lol. I found the neckerchief just a sec ago. Supposedly from the 60's. Is there any way to polish the brass?? just curious.

Has anyone ever seen a similar button?

The button looks either silver plated or silver. Is there any backmark? Nice finds.

what is a backmark

A backmark refers to any writing on the back of the button that could assist with dating the button. Is there any writing at all on the back?

no writing, but there is a lot of history in the area that I hunt lol

Nice stuff love the button, buckles and the lone minie. fellow Georgian Davers

Thanks, I found the button in the same area that the Minnie was found. The park I hunt was an old mill site from the 1800's. That's where I find a ton of old buttons, buckles, harmonica reeds, and old coins. Around the lake in the park I find modern coins, but closer to the woods at the top of the hill is where I find the old stuff. I only know of one person that has hunted it. He has found a bunch of silver quarters, but I haven't found a single one. I keep finding mercury dimes, wheats, and one buffalo. My oldest so far are two 1919 wheats. My goal right now is to find a standing liberty quarter and by the age of the coins I have found I believe there should be one there. Wish me luck lol

Very nice finds! :notworthy: With your ambitious approach, you'll definitely find your standing liberty quarter --- just a matter of time! Andi

Thanks, I've been trying to get new hunting sites and have been pretty successful. The more places the better the chance. I went and introduced myself to the city manager and he was a pretty cool guy. He is allowing me to hunt the old rail depot where the city was first started. The founder of the city stood on a stump in the same area where he allows me to hunt and sold the first lots off in 1840. I have hunted there a few times so far, but it's kind of a rough area now and its filled up with beer bottle tops and rail road parts. I did manage to find a dime smushed by the train though lol. I also found the weird piece in the pic above with the unicorn on it. Does anyone know what it is?
