Hi All,
got a few interesting finds on recent hunts.
Nice Pewter coin bank, made to resemble a Jewelery box.
lead print plate with rabbit :icon_scratch:
interesting Lamp thumbwheel, Antiquarian can probably Id The maker :help:
Some large brass expansion tank, looks like it has gunsights, thought I dug a brass ships bell when I pulled it out covered in mud, will be posting in Whatsit.
Pretty 'White Metal' stamped spoon.
A crusted Memorial Cent, often these are 'surprise packages' I can see the images on this one without cracking it. (date error on comparison Cent :icon_sunny: )
possible buckle fragment.
Old style handline sinker, 22 ounces of lead !
Love the handforged tripod in group photo ;D
Best digs to you all! Thanks for looking

Very interesting finds there Herbie! :notworthy:

That silver spoon is nice, though I can't read the info on it.
Is it sterling? :icon_scratch:

The Kerosene torch tank is cool too, I've never seen one like that before.

The oil lamp thumb screw you found reminds me of the type that Holmes. Booth & Haydens used back in the 1860's. They used a very similar star on their early lamp burners. (See example below) Though I'm not sure that yours is an HB&H.

Take care buddy,
Dave

Thanks everyone!
Appreciate that torch ID VegasTattoo :notworthy:
Handle went between the 'sights', one hole held pump, one was the outlet.
It's all so clear now :icon_sunny:
BTW, it reads: 'Made by Clayton and Lambert Co, Detroit Michigan USA'
Holy Toledo, I just found a picture, Where's the rest of it :icon_scratch:
Hi Dave,
Apologies for the quality of some of my photos, I'm working with manual focus & no flash, hold the find with one hand, the camera with the other while keeping everything under a desk lamp :tongue3:
Thanks for the help on the lampwheel, I knew you were the man to ask!
When I find Silver spoons I shout it out loud :laughing7:

Can't read the spoon makers name, but it has an A1 and 'White Metal'
a generic name for nickel/antimony alloys I believe
When I find Silver I shout it out loud :laughing7:
First I've seen to say that, I'd rather find these dull sounding plateds than the copper
cored ones that sound kinda like silver.
Best digs to All

Thanks! Great idea, I love the hammer marks on each of the feet.
old blacksmith work

your find piles are great.
do you have big pockets,
or do you run back to the
shore to unload?
love a silver spoon when
they come up.

Well done Herbie.
I love that spoon.

thanks All!
Dwayne, I fill the pockets & return to the truck to unload when full,
large pieces are brought up as needed, of course there is a 'Pocket pecking order'
left front, junk.
left rear, common coins & buttons,
Watch pocket, goodies.
real goodies get a special trip to the truck, unless I'm too far, then I'll wrap them in a leaf or seaweed (or even keep them in my mouth :tongue3: )
especially patina'd items I don't want to chip.
this junk pile is an average days scrap haul, I included a pic today because of that 3 legged stand ;D
Best digs to you All!
