Very cool triangular holes. I can see something but I'm inclined to be thinking a double strike. Either way what's the story on this silver?

That’s a Spanish Reale, Not sure if it’s a one Reale .... I’m not an expert, I’m still trying to find one! 1700,s silver find AWESOME!! Congrats and HH

Nice find. I'm not seeing a counterstamp. Just the two holes. I agree that it's a half real or a one real. Too small to be a 2 reale. Congrats!

It was found up near a 1798 large cent in upstate ny. The holes are triangular, but if you look carefully above the shield on the reverse side there seems to be a small counterstamped image I suspect. I also thought someone might know about the triangular stamps on it. I seem to recall seeing another similar coin on the forums.

Assay marks.... OK!

Very nice coin
Congrats

Awesome Spanish silver! Those are incredibly hard to find! Actually not in very bad condition compared to most of the ones that are dug, they used those until 1856 in the U.S., and they got incredibly worn!

Such a cool find! Congratulations. The additional triangle hole is intriguing. Maybe it inspired the later hand can opener...Ha!

Congratualtions on the Spanish silver recovery! :occasion14:
