I walked a recently made drainage ditch tonight and found what I think was a buried waste pit. I first noticed a freshwater mussel shell, and beside it was some pottery shards and old bones. I saw alot of small flakes coming out of the bank, and finally spotted a worked edge poking out of the bank. I was excited when I pulled this sweet point out of the bank. I'm not positive about type ( Hopewell? ) it's been reshapened heavily and it's thicker near the tip. Driving back home I stopped by the spring to wash off the pottery shards and spotted this chalcedony point in the creek, couldn't miss it. Always keep your eyes on the ground, you never know where they may show up.

I swear you just drive down the road and find arrowheads!!!! lol That site with the pottery sounds very promising. Looks like a deer bone? Any idea what type of pottery? Great finds for a Monday

location my man, fortunately I'm right in the thick of it. The great indian warpath and two major trails intersect a couple of miles from here. I thought deer bone too, not sure about the culture of the pottery. I broke a small piece off and it's dark material with bits of shell. If your over this way give me a holler, I'll put you on some flint.
