Hi friends, hope you all are well.

John found some goodies the other day, including the tiniest buckle in the world, ha ha. Also a 1902 "V" nickel, a larger brass buckle, a couple of buttons, and a gorgeous pineapple decorative piece with what looks like clip on the back, as if it was worn by someone or something. Any thoughts on that? We love the design! It appears to be brass.

Best wishes and thanks for looking. -Lisa & John

You're saying that V nickle was dug?

Yes, it's a bit worn, but all of our silver coins come out of the ground nice and clean. Only a water rinse is needed.

That nickle isn't silver .

The design on the brass piece is actually a thistle which is (and has been) a popular Scottish/English motif. It almost looks like a clasp or buckle of some sort.

Oh gee, forgive me for referring to the nickel as silver when it's not. I assumed it was because of how shiny it was when it came out of the ground. We've found several of these on the property, all dug, and they all look pretty nice. -L&J

Oh! Interesting. So thistle instead of a pineapple. Very cool, thanks Paleo! -Lisa

I'd go with a suspender clip for your mystery piece. Nice finds.

Nice Finds ! Cool Clip :icon_thumright:

Awesome relic hunt, love the buckle! :occasion14:

Another batch of underground goodies! The V nickel is beautiful, I was lucky enough to dig my first Shield nickel and I can't even read the date!...so yes, your finds are very well preserved...great clasp and awesome buckle..is there no end to your superb finds!? I'm hoping not...ha...ddf

Ya, it's bizarre, we found a shield last week and it was in the complete opposite condition of this V (and most of our other Vs). The site is still putting out some cool stuff! Thanks, Dirt. -L&J

You're saying that V nickle was dug?

They have NEVER posted anything that would lead me to the belief that something wasn't dug. And if they were going to my guess would be that a more modern nickel wouldnt be the choice.
Lisa and John that's another nice group of finds and a killer shoe buckle that is basically complete. Keep those good finds coming. That's a hell of a property you have. Coins come out in lots of different conditions depending upon the soil and the area dug....time in the dirt and the duration of circulation. Don't ever stop posting your finds because somebody may believe it's not dug. I dug this farthing and I'm sure some people believed it wasn't dug.

But it was and that's all that matters.

The shoe buckle and suspender clip are Saaweet. I think the tiny buckle might have came off the shoe of a smurf...or a spur?
