Some balls I found

I have mentioned these in a few other posts, I finally got around to taking some pics. They are about three and a half inches across. The left one is a ceramic with a steel or iron core, the one on the right is solid steel. HH omnicognic 8)

Could they be blast plugs? When they drilled holes and then put the charge in, and then plugged the hole with these balls to produce a better explosion. I remember using rubber ones in the 70's
