This is a softcover reprinting (Rio Grande Classic, 1990) of the original 1933 hardcover book.
Contrary to the book’s title there are stories outside the southwest. Examples include: One chapter is about
Frank & Jesse James burying money in Missouri; Another chapter is about the Cocos Island treasure;
A third chapter describes a copper deposit in Alaska. The book does not contain location maps or a bibliography.
This reprint includes an Index that was not in the original edition.

Contains 65 tales of lost mines or buried treasures in Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas.
Small outline maps of the states have number circles showing the assumed general location of the treasure sites.
This is a softcover reprinting of an earlier hardcover. Each chapter starts with a summary of
the assumed Value, Location, and Authentication. Reading Sources (Pages 207 – 235),
include for each treasure tale, a list of articles and books which were the source material.
 

Have thought of getting the Dig Here book by Penfield, the rest I believe I either have or have read.
 

Looked it over and should be some good reading. Many folks don't realize what they are really seeing with books of this nature.
