I found this at 6 inches in a area where we have found civil war bullets & buttons. I'm told its not iron. Any help in identifying is appreciated. Thanks for looking.

someone on another website told me this is a Texas Star Conchos used on saddles, briddles and other western items. I don't know how old but I'm calling it solve. Thanks
