Hi all, thanks in advance for your help. I was hoping someone with a more trained eye could take a look at these pictures and give me their best "guess" on a date for this George II halfpenny I found this past Sunday. I believe the last number is a zero, and I know these were produced from 1729 to 1754, so my guess was 1740. Let me know what you think.

Jai

Re: What date on this George II Halfpenny

I think the 1740 issue has a "U" not a "V" and reads "GEORGIUS" - so my guess is 1750 but I'm sure someone else will be able to respond more confidently than me-

I think you're right. I can make out a 50. Monty

You know what, I'm seeing it now too, especially with the pic posted showing how the numbers were made. I think I'll mark this one as solved and call in 1750! Thanks!
