Woke up before daylight and headed over to this new soccer field I found, with visions of rings and clad in my head. Using my GPS, I had my flags put out for markers before the sun rose. Once it got light enough to hunt I went to work. It didn't take too long to know that this place had been hit hard in the past. I could also tell that they had discriminated out pull tabs and can slaw, because that was all I was picking up. Instead of picking up and leaving, I decided to go ahead and hunt the section I had layed out. I figured that if they left the pull tabs, they left the gold. Man, it was rough going. I never thought I would see the day that a coin signal would get me excited, but today they were so far and few between, every time I got one I would want to do the happy dance. After 6 hours of steady searching, I ended up with a little clad, one heart shaped pendent, a little trinket, and a Boy Scouts kerchief holder. If it wasn't for digging 8 quarters stacked on top of each other, my coin count would be a lot less. I dug a whole lot of can slaw and pull tabs, but no gold. I'm not going to give up on this one yet, just going to rethink it a little.
