So frustrating. picked up my order. Teller says, you're the 3rd person today
So, like the title says, I went to one of my pick up banks to pick up my 2 boxes of halves. The teller says to me, wow I dont know what it is, but you are the 3rd person TODAY who has come in here for fifty cent pieces that they ordered. Third person today? I said. Yep. Today.
I feel like I totally missed the bus on this CRH'ing thing, I have only been doing it for 3 or 4 months now. Is it just me or does it seem like it is absolutely exploding lately? it went from a few (which considered by most to be a few to many)... To where it is now, which for me, I dont even get strange looks anymore when I ask for halves, I get the eye roll..... Like, there is another one of those weirdos asking for halves... Nope, we dont have them, we never do, and your the X person today who asked. Or even better, you walk into a bank only to hear a guy in front of you ask, do you have any halves Nope. Then its my turn, Can I help you sir? Ummm, Yeah, I uhhhhh.... I forgot my wallet, its in my car, I'll be right back. I dont neccessarily care that there is more competition, I feel like those who are willing to outwork the competition will win when it comes to CRH'ing (which I am willing, and I do). What worries me the most, when I think about how long or when it gets to the point that Brinks, Loomis, etc... decides they have had enough, or the banks for that matter.... I hope it doesnt come to that, but like everything else, I dont know how it doesnt.
Happy hunting, I will post results of the two boxes later.
P.S. I was asking a week or two ago about weighing rolls..... It is absolutely NOT accurate. For me anyways. The very first roll that was 226.25 grams got me excited, cause I knew... Silver. and yep, there was a 90% kennedy. Since that 1 roll, (5 boxes ago) There have been 3 rolls that weighed over 226 grams, not one of them had silver of any kind inside... So the four heaviest rolls out of 5 boxes, and only 1 silver, there were a total of 7 silvers outside of that 1 90%er and over half were in rolls that were less than 225.50 grams. I am very surprised at how innacurate weighing them is.
