Saturday I stopped at my son's house to MD a little in their back yard. There was a little concrete just showing through the grass that I thought may indicate there had been an older structure there before their home. I got a signal indicating disc and iron. I dug down about 6 inches to what I thought was a metal plate about 5X8. I probed down the edges and found it to be about 3 in. thick with hinges on one long side and some kind of latch on the other. My daughter -in-law ran to get a full size shovel and......it turned out to be and old fuse/switch box of the old screw in fuse kind. I knew it was too good to be a cache!!!
So close yet so far!

seeing hinges and a latch on something im digging would get me realy excited too.. to bad it wasnt a box of gold or silver coins.
