Snow Hunt #2 (temp. 27F/-3C) ACE 250/Sniper Coil/ 9"x12" Coil

Just a great nite for detecting. The temperature went from -18c this morning to a balmy -3C. I rushed home from work, got the sock sweater for my ACE 250, put in a HOT PACK, put on the sniper coil and headed to some playgrounds. I hunted the playgrounds for 1 1/2 hours till dark, then moved to my favorite hill where people snowboard and toboggan, I switched over to my 9"x12" coil as I had to cover a lot of hill. I lasted about 1 1/2 hours transversing the hill back and forth, then got just plain tuckered out.

Along with my loot and snowflake earring at the kids playground, I also dug up a cool buckle, totally intact. A great item to my collection of "things"

How is that 9x12 working out? I just bought mine $79.00 at
Clevengers and an extra rod.
I'd think there was alot of mudd you had to get through. Messy!

You da man John! It was too hot here for me to hunt today! Just kidding. It is warm here this week in the 80's. I would be hunting if I could get away. The wife has to work this weekend so I may try to take the boys to the beach or somewhere that I can get some hunting in.

You guys up there are really crazy! Put another log on the fire for me! I'm staying inside when the white stuff is on the ground!!!

Hi guy, Love your pictures, your a man after my and my partners own heart! Last year we hunted at a site and use a pick to get coins out of the frozen ground. In fact I cut a quarter right in half with my pick. LOL

We are going tomorrow, hope we beat the big snow storm coming our way here in Ohio. Darn it anyway. Thanks again for your post, great finds and great pictures.

Thought you might like to see the picture from last years winter hunt. Looks a lot like yours. LOL

By the way, I do use the bigger coil and also use a SunRay Probe. Like both very much. The bigger coil will punch out deeper coins and really sounds off good. I still use the smaller coil and have a 5 incher also that I use in the woods.
