We got about an inch of snow last night. I was off today because of the Holiday, and it was just miserable this morning with blowing snow and about 25 degees. Started to clear up about noon so I decided to go back to the button field one more time. After about two hours of just some iron things I got a nice quarter signal. That has always meant a nice large cent in this field. Surprise!! An 1806 Spanish 2 reals. I have found 1/2 reals and 1 reals but this is my first "2 bits". It is larger than I expected. I have posted a picture with a quarter for size comparison. I will keep the pictures, but the coin is going to the property owner. He has been really great to work with, and I have made a lot of great finds on their property. He had asked me the other day, if I had found any Spanish Silver, and at that time I had not. He was really excited when he saw it today. I was really hoping that he would not want it, but I would not have felt right not being honest with him about it. The metal detecting gods will replace it with something else tomorrow. Thanks for looking...Lance
