Found this in a ghost town which disappeared in 1913. The town had over 800 people and there were a lot of civil war union veterans whom lived here. Found this near one of the houses. I definately is silver either coin silver or sterling but I have no idea what it is. My only thought was a civil war union silver star. It looks as if it were attached to something else on the back and when I found it, the star is bent. Please help fellas u guys rock!

Really a silver star from Sunday school? Is there a theory behind it? I'm just curious

nhbenz nailed it, good job. It is a Sunday School Star, it looks like more than a few Religions participate in the S. S. program. I found this one on ebay. The solid evidence is they both have a Fleur De Lis type symbol, a crown, a small star ans S. S. embossed on a star. I think the Sunday School star is an award for outstanding aattendance and participation at Sunday School.
