Drove up to my nieces house today and hunted her yard for a couple of hours,at first was only picking up a few clads here and there ,then I hit a good signal and dug the 1919 quarter, rechecked the hole and here comes out a 1916 barber dime one more scan produces the 1907 indian head penny, pretty productive day with the added silver bonus 1950 dime and 1945 dime and a few wheaties! The medal says Women Relief Corps and is dated 1883. Does anyone know what the letters on the old lock stand for? L N M CO. Went crappie fishing yesterday and did pretty good also!

Re: Small pocket spill

Good job on the silver! :icon_thumleft: Been a while since I've had a day like that, except for the crappie! I've been catchin' lots o' crappie the last couple of months. H.H!!

Re: Small pocket spill

You got yourself an old lock made by the Norwich Lock Manufacturing Co.

http://www.phoenixmasonry.org/masonicmuseum/masonic_us_army_padlock.htm

The ones shown are not like yours, however, note the similarity to the design on your lock and the key designs on the website. How about some better pics of the lock.....front, back and bottom? Is there a small slot on the bottom of your lock?

Overall, nice finds!!!

Re: Small pocket spill

The National Woman's Relief Corps, Auxiliary to the Grand Army of the Republic, Inc., is a patriotic organization whose express purpose is to perpetuate the memory of the Grand Army of the Republic, as we are their auxiliary organized at their request on July 25 and 26, 1883 in Denver, Colorado, and incorporated by Public Act of the 87th Congress on September 7, 1962

Congrats on the silver...love the lock. Those old locks display nicely.

Nice Silvers and fish ... congrats !

Thanks for the updated lock pictures. I figured that was a keyhole guard on the front, but, the link I sent you to showed the older (I think) locks with the 'push key' slot in the bottom. I noticed you got it open, is the lock mechanism broken? In any case, it is a very cool lock.
