Small pocket knife? How old is it?

I was metal detecting down by the river this morning and found this item which appears to be a small pocket knife with a picture of a dog on it it and some designs on both sides. There is lettering on one side of it, but I can't make out the second letter after the F. I found some other items there that I was able to positively date back to around the 1870's. I'm not sure if the knife is that old or if it is more modern. Anybody have any ideas?

Can you take a toothpick and go around the second letter? It's very hard to make out that letter with the dirt on it. This is a very very nice knife!

The word is FRARY. The company, Frary Cutlery Company of Bridgeport CT was founded by James D. Frary around 1862 as part of the larger company LANDERS, FRARY & CLARK. Among their products, they made a series of pocket knives using stamped pewter handles, marketed to young boys.
