Hi All.
Just been given a new field to dig in - found a few things, buckles, old pennies, etc but 2 of the items I found today look pretty old and if you could help ID-ing it would be much appreciated.
First one is this little figure (Male I think) His right arm outstretched, a defined belt around his waist. Its only 34mm high (looks like something has snapped off the top so would have been longer) and 18mm wide (sides seem intact as they curve and have some pattern on them. Quite heavy - 15.2g and shows sign of some remains of silver plate - Pewter I think.
Here are the pics:

Also found this nearby - Again pretty heavy at 58.5g - lead or Pewter - 50mm square - On the back shows some sign of attachment - Could it be a Brooch or Buckle of some kind?

Thanks and best wishes,
David.

1st looks like a man on a bull's back?

2nd very similar to 19th-20th c. Scottish buckles.

Thanks for that Crusader, Any ideas of the First item. I agree, it does look like a Bull when you turn it on its side - but then it makes that figure tied to it face up?..... sounds like torture to me!

Cheap pot metal plated to look more expensive, early 20th C I would guess, goes with similar junk I found in a 1920s dump. Plant pot :dontknow:

I think he is face down... he seems to have his arms around it.

If it is early 20th c., then maybe Cretan bull rider type scene? Most of that stuff is copper plated first, then silver.

Leave it to the Scots to wear horse ornaments as belt buckles. :laughing7: :laughing7: Bling!
