The coins were found in pasture field in the same hole approx 8 inches in the soil .I found them about 10 years ago.The coins are as follows
George III Halfcrown 1817
George III Halfcrown 1819
George IV Halfcrown 1825
George III Shilling 1816
George III Shilling 1820
George III Sixpence 1819
I believe it is rare to fing Georgian halfcrowns but so many coins found and in excellent condition I was amazed . I have found two other small Georgian copper coin hoards in the same field .The site is near a canal and canal bridge .The canal dates to about 1796.I have been told there was once a pub near to site .Maybe this is reason for 3 Georgian coin hoards in the field .Plenty of activity.Happy hunting. Thanks for looking.
