I found this small copper item in an area where I previously found a fur trade axe.
My hunch is that it's from the same time period as the axe,but not sure what it was
used for?
I was thinking a kids bracelet cause it's only 1 3/4 inches in diameter.
I might be totally off with this one thou.
My buddy suggested pony tail hair ring? image.jpgimage.jpg

A ring to fit somebody's big toe? ... nah.. maybe a scarf slide.

Looks like a 19th C childs bracelet to me.

Yeap, child/baby arm will fit just fine. Seen Roman ones this size.

I have seen split ones for babies, but you would be hard pressed to get an inch and three quarter ring over a baby's hand.

Maybe you have big babies over there...lol Seems wider enough gap to me, maybe ask the OP to grab a baby & test it.

Will do,told wife I want a baby, preferably a girl, so I can see if the glass shoe fits.

Another consideration, is that in the late 19th C when this was made, people were smaller.

Or just a napkin ring.

1.75" is a very common diameter for those.
