Dug this small buckle and wondering what type you may think it to be. It has a raised bar like horse tack buckles but the raised bar is on the backside instead of on top. All brass and a nickel I found near it for size reference. Buckle may be older than the nickel, I don't know. Thanks for lookin,vn

Could be a buckle from a vintage leather watch band.

before i give up on this one, anybody else confirm if this was perhaps military use or horse tack? this was a site occupied by the Army in 1857-58 Seminole War. It may just be a kids strap buckle as far as I know, but horse tack generally has a raised bar, not a under mounted bar...am I right or way off????

It certainly has a utilitarian look to it... Rugged and sturdy. Maybe from a knapsack strap?

Looks horse related to me, early 1900s, maybe late 1800s

I just wasnt sure if horse tack related buckles had a lower bar like this, this one does not have the usual raised bar in the center.
