small brooch??

Found this small piece of jewelry, with 7 stones, not sure if they're glass or diamonds? Can't determine what the metal is either? This was found in between rocks of a stone cellar, dating back to the late 1700's. It appears to be in remarkable condition if it's that old. My other thought is it was dropped some time ago and might not be of the 1800's era?

Any thoughts as to how to date this as well as determine the make-up of the stone? Many thanks..

looks like antique costume jewelry. probably glass stones set in plated copper or thin brass. possibly had a tube hinge on the pin, and has a 'C' catch. my personal belief is that it dates to around 1910, but could be a little older. here's a link that's helpful for dating brooches based on the clasp..... It reminds me of Czechlosavakian glass jewelry of the timeframe suggested by Jewelerguy. Its characteristics include thin stamped brass with plenty of glass stones.
