🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Small brass something?

I found this at an 1890's home site. It came out of the ground broken, and had obviously been bent at some point. It would be a bit over 2" long if it were straight and intact. It's appears to be brass. There are holes through the "ears" on the end on both sides. I'm guessing it was attached to a pin there so it could rotate. It seems too thin to have been any kind of handle, at least if it expected much force to be applied. It's a bit thicker than your average greeting card. It has what looks like maybe a solder spot in the "bowl" of the end of it, so maybe it was hinged at one and and soldered to something at the other? Anyone recognize it?

Here are top, side, and bottom views, as best I could get them given that it's in two pieces.

Well that certainly looks very similar. It just seems too small and weak to serve that purpose, but I guess it's possible. I mean, the "spoon" part is only maybe an inch long and half an inch wide. Here it is next to an Indian Head Penny from the same site for size reference.

Reminds me of a piece of valve for fuel barrels....this is similar to what I was thinking..less the hole

Maybe the lever that sits on top of a beer stein. Those holes allowed it to be pinned to another component; maybe to the hinged lid.
