Decided to stay off the beaches (saltwater ones) today as everything has been sanded in from the recent storms. Headed out to a small neighborhood lake I've been eyeballing and wasn't disappointed! Very small (50' x 50') and not old but there were some targets! Lots of clad but I did manage to pull three rings (most for me in one location). One is a junk adjustable, missing whatever was mounted on it at one time, the second is a vintage "silver toned" ring made by a company called Vogue: (from a website):
Vogue Designer Coral Adjustable Ring Hard to Find by parkledge
"Vogue jewelry was first produced by Park Importing Co.NYC, about 1915. The firm specialized in simulated pearls and beads jewelry. The Vogue jewelry found on the market today was manufactured in the late 1930's to early 1970's by Harold Shapiro, and his two partners, Jack Gilbert and George Grant. Shapiro left the company in 1961 and his son, Bernard, founded Les Bernard, Inc. in 1963. Vogue jewelry is said to be beautiful, demonstrating originality and innovation of designs. Jewelry pieces produced in the early 1930s to 1940s are hard to find and sought after by collectors. Mark: VOGUE". The Vogue company ceased operations in early 1975."
This one looks like it may be from the '40's but not really sure. The one above is coral but the one I found looks to be this one:
Vintage SZ6 Ring Vogue Adjustable w Oval Simulated Turquoise Stone Silver Tone | eBay
Last one was the one that gave me a "nitro" moment as some would say.....saw it facing up to where I could just see the three stones and my heart skipped a beat (Real Ice? Gold? Platinum? you know that feeling...), until I saw what the sides looked like (and looked under and saw the stones were glued in) and realized it was JUNK but still a cool find! Brings the ring total for this year to 25+ (3 of em gold).
Thanks for looking!
