SLQ, barbers, and a Merc....and it ain't no joke in this heat

Snuck away from work and went to a newer site. The ground was dust, the grass was half dead and mostly dust, the temp was 89 degrees, and humidity was 75%. It was rough out there.

Did about 2.5 hrs and got some great results. Dug a bunch of wheats and a few Indians. In between all them snagged two barbers (one with an almost hole), a Merc, and a 1923 SLQ in pretty good shape. Probably the best one out of the 9 I've found.

I think I overdid I today in the heat. My apologies for the lame and short post. I need AC and a BEER

Very nice day

Outstanding silver coins!!! I'd be thrilled with 1 IH! I'm glad your hot hunt wasn't for nothing. Makes me want to move to the East coast!

Stunning SLQ there !! :occasion14: Any silver is always good but ones like that are getting more rare to find all the time. Still looking for my first good SLQ here.

Wow man, great silvers! I really like the dark/light contrast going on with the SLQ

Thanks guys. The condition is quite nice. There are details I never even knew of like writing on the tablets liberty is leaning on while standing and detail just inside of the rim.

Very well done Scrappy. The SLQ looks really nice. Jelly...

WOW! That SLQ is awesome !!! Nice Barbs and Merc. Great job, congrats

That SLQ cleaned up Great, Awesome coin!!

I am happy with Indians. I normally post them but I just don't have it in me today to clean them.

I know how you feel, I got 9 IH from last week 1 fatty (my 1st) I do Believe & my 1st V Nickel that I have not scrubbed yet.
I found 4 IH at this site 11 days ago & they Cleaned up real good ( better than the 1950's Wheat cents I recently Dug.
Crazy I know , Gives me something to look forward to. About 5 min of hard Scrubbing for each cent sounds about right.

Heck 14 IH's from 1 site Matches my lifetime total. IH's Dug in 15 years They are a Treat in these parts.
Sorry for my rant on your post.

That STLQ is Beautiful , Awesome Barbers as well.
Davers

Last winter I saved my IHP's, wheaties, and some old nickels that needed alt of work for the winter. It got me through the frozen days of winter. Had every year and mintmark come to find out of wheaties last winter. Even the 1909 VDB, but NOT the 1909 VDB-S

That is a great hunt! 9 SLQs? Dang.

Heat... Heat... I've heard that word before. I guess I am thankful though that I have had to wear a hoodie on every hunt. You can always dress warmer and such.

I'm definitely in your school of thought. Let it be cooler and you can always dress warmer. I feel like the season around here went from harsh winter right to hot summer, with hardly any Spring weather

I agree, seems like just yesterday I was chomping at the bit waiting for the thaw and yesterday I was sweating to death

Great coins! The only one I have managed out of those so far is a Merc.
