Sling Swivel? and Large Sharp Iron

Went back out this afternoon to the area I have been digging flat buttons and other 1800’s relics and dug what I think is a sling swivel from a rifle. I also dug a heavy duty sharpened hunk of iron. Not sure if it was the start of a weapon or a farming tool but non the less it’s pretty cool!

Looks like maybe a swivel for a firearm? That blade is pretty wild, but I have no clue as to what it is.
 

That's the female half to an English "snake buckle"- cool find! From what I've read, the ones which have the circular part integral to the main loop, like yours, are CW era. Ones where that circular part is attached to the edge of the loop are later- that style has been used up to modern times in Britain and its' former colonies. The two-section snake part of the buckle is worth looking for in that same area! Nice dig!
