slate vs granite

of course it will break down -in what 20 30 years? Slate is by far the best. If it wears out in 25 years build another! Good luck

ok ya now that i think about it if it was getting pounded by water then it would brake down quick. now i just got to figure out how big of a piece i want. hummm im thinking 16"x36".

im gonna stop at home depot today to buy the materials to make an adjustable stand. jobe wants $64.99 for it. lets see how much cheaper i can make it. shouldnt be as much.

so i spent the wk end building an adjustable sluice stand.

i already have a jobe power head. im getting ready to make a miller table. i just have to wait for my granite counter guy to cut my piece of slate.

looks like your on the right track! BUT youll need to have some larger pads welded onto the bottom of the legs for your stand if you take it out anywhere or itll continually sink into the ground or streambed!

oh ya thanks for reminding me... i was going to put adjustable feet on it for fine tuning. i was going to use these but the threads are to big unless i tap out the bottom of those 1/4" square tubs.
