Over opening weekend on my first hunt I didn't run into any elk or deer, but I did happen to find what I figured is an arrowhead. I had a funny feeling while walking along a hillside. The thought crossed my mind 'If I were a native way back when this would be a primo spot to hunt over the gulch'. As soon as I looked down I swear it was the first thing my eyes came across. ??? I was meeting up with my group so I didn't think to stop and look for more, but I'm sure if I get back that way this week I just might find something else. This is the first arrowhead I have ever found so I was pretty stoked. I found myself looking at the ground more often than I should while hunting, but I found a couple elk sheds in the process. A friend told me that it could be a spearhead, and being I have no idea, I would appreciate any info. I found it in southwestern Montana near Whitehall if that helps any. Thanks

:hello: Welcome to tnet! Yes, it looks like an arrowhead. Nice Find! :icon_thumleft: The base is missing so it is difficult to ''type'' it. I have always had that problem when I am out hunting. By the time I see that big buck or elk it is going over the next ridge.

Thanks for the info Old Digger. I still haven't gotten back out to the area to look for more but may do so over the weekend. I have been hunting almost every day this week, and for some reason keep running into more moose than deer or elk. O well at least I'm seeing something!

don't have any info for you, but that is cool. I love arrowheads
