I finally got a permission I have been wanting for a few weeks, every time I would stop nobody was home, this time they were! When I knocked on the door I
got to talk to the owners, a real nice older couple. When I asked them about the place they told me the house was built in 1880 so I was hoping I would at least find
some silver or and Indian.
I got started and did a couple passes around the house and got pretty much nothing after about an hour, I was thinking maybe someone had detected it before,
but the lady said nobody had. I noticed the one side of the house had four trees that made about a 60 foot square so I thought I would try that next.
After a few minutes I got a good signal and I was thinking silver dime, but out pops a big token, I cleaned it off and it said it was a good luck token, great!
maybe it might work? Not five minutes later I get a solid 23-24 and am thinking wheat penny, when I opened up the hole sure enough one pops out, when I
rescanned the hole I got another similar tone, once again another wheat, I rescan it one more time and I get a 20? I stick the pinpointer in the hole and find
another coin, this time an Indian!
A few minutes later I get a good solid 27-28, dig the hole and out pops a Barber dime! Cool now I got my first silver, maybe I`ll get another one before I`m
done for the day. Just five minutes later I get a squirrely 21-26 signal that's fairly weak, I think as long as its at least a 20 I`m gonna dig em all in this yard
so once I pop the plug it takes me like 2-3 minutes to find it, out come a seated dime! it really was being elusive!
Over the next hour or so I get lots of wheats and find two Mercs before I reach the biggest tree in the group, when I start going around it I get a slamming 33-34
and when I get the hole dug I see it sitting in the bottom of the hole, a Franklin half!!
Wow, that makes five silvers in a little more than an hour, I keep going and a little thought pops into my head, I just need a Rosy to get my quad, naw never happen
everything in this yard has been old.
About half an hour later I`m getting ready to quit as its getting dark and I figure I can make two more passes until I can`t see anymore, when I go by a smaller
tree outside the four bigger ones I get a solid 27-28 but its spiking up to 31. I wasn`t sure what to expect but when I got the hole open, out pops a Rosy!!! Wow, I just got my quad, never thought that would ever happen this year!
That makes 91 silvers FTY, hopefully the ground won`t freeze too soon and give me a chance at 100!
Over the next three days I went back and spent 8 more hours going over the place and didn`t find hardly anything else except a 1917 Merc,a 1937 Buffalo and an awesome skeleton key!
Sure hope I can find a few more house like this to detect!
