Silvers #18 & #19!

Went out a couple hours yesterday with Marinedad and did a little more freestyling. He got a two silver coin jump on me early and I thought my E-Trac was going down, :boxing: but late in the game I came roaring back with two scores. A 1948 Rosie at 12 inches and a 1958 Rosie at 8 inches! :hello2: Mark still thinks he won because he got a very nice 1951 silver quarter but we will leave that up to the judges. :icon_scratch: Happy hunting!

No, I think a dime at 12 inches beats a quarter at 4 inches. :laughing7: :laughing7:

Re: Silvers #18 & #19!

a dime at 12 inches is impressive. Must be some real clean land out there to be able to zero in on something that deep. I say 35 silver cents beats 20 silver cents though. Its all about the bottom line :laughing7: Nice job but Mark wins.

Re: Silvers #18 & #19!

don't matter Where , How, Why, in the end its about the silver...1 silver quarter beats 2 silver dimes any day... unless were taking key dates...

it is all about the end results!

silver dimes = 2.5 grams (and dimes are usually well worn)
silver quarter = 6.25 grams

COngrats on the silver!

Re: Silvers #18 & #19!

Ok, Marks wins, but I am calling it a win on a technicality and here is my reasoning. If two great silver hunters each end the year with 300 silver coins and one has one more silver quarter than the other guy then I could not say he was the winner. :argue: Happy huntiing!

Re: Silvers #18 & #19!

I thought you were compairing finds from just one hunt here???

Correction. I thought my Lesche digger was 12 inches but I just measured it and it is only 11.5 inches. The top of the digger was level with the ground so the 1948 dime was 11.5 inches deep.

thats what I thought too...

if your comparing finds as a competition kinda of thing then for me... I wouldn't care if you found 2 silver dimes at a depth of 2 feet... and I found a silver quarter at 1 inch.... the quarter find is still better...

if your comparing depth... and the fact you can find silver deeper.... well then you should be finding more silver then there would be no contest but you didn't

comparing the value or stating "my finds are better" just because you dug it deeper doesn't mean carpola! IMO

in the end you don't remember how deep it was you remember how much you found!

Congratz on finding silver...

Re: Silvers #18 & #19!

I'd say it all goes down to what you are comparing. If you are comparing finds, then definitely Mark wins hands down. If this is one of those competitions that has style points or a beauty contest, you won that. If you are comparing capabilities of your detectors, well the Etrac won that round. Nice Job.

Is this still silver coming from Mark's club?

Mark and I are just having a little fun with this. Mark's quarter was not only 4 inches. Nothing serious at all and no the silver is not coming from Mark's club. This is my honey hole!
