Today, I was running some errands and getting ready for the weekend. One of the errands was to pick up some cash for one of my other hobbies - auctions. I didn't ask for halves or any coin as I was going to be too busy this weekend and didn't want to be bothered. The teller knows that I'm a coin collector and she asked if I could do her a favor. She was sitting on $390 in halves and was looking to not have to count them when she closes out her drawer as she's been doing for the past week. She knows that I'm a "Buy Them All" kind of guy. Usually, I'll buy the dumps from this branch and cycle them into my dumps to keep the ladies happy.

She warned me that there was no silver as the customer who dropped them off already picked all the silver out, "but I might find some keepers for my collection". So she began pulling the rolls from beneath her drawer and I noticed the rolls were labeled "Kenedy 71". That was a good sign as I figured that if the prior owner wasn't smart enough to spell Kennedy than they were more than likely not so thorough on the culling of silver.

Then the teller had pulled some MWR with the customer's writing on them - Kenedy 65, Kenedy 67 - and I noticed the obvious enders. Sweet. The prior owner was not aware of 40%'ers. These MWRs were from the Federal Reserve Branch in Cleveland (Uncirculated Solid Dated Rolls). The rest of the rolls were CWRs.

So I knew I had some keepers, but I had no idea how many. The end result was 21 solid rolls. 431 keepers - all but 1 were 40%'ers (the prior owner wasn't all that thorough by letting a lone 64 slip through). Enjoy the silver p0rn.

As Riley says, "It's out there". Happy Hunting.

dang why couldn't that happen to me? -- because folks around here are all
silver smart thats why.

Once again, it was the CWR's that made the big score. :headbang::occasion14: Good luck at the auction to, not that you need any!:laughing7:

Thanks, everyone. I know I don't post my finds, but I had to share with the group. Not just to show off, but rather to inspire those that have been going through a skunk streak. The silver is out there, and you never know when it will surface. Keep on the hunt, and buy them all even if you are sure they are dumps and have been searched.

Auctions - the deals are there or they aren't. I wish TNet had a sub-forum on Auctions as I think there are others that enjoy the hunt at auctions. We have Garage Sale Finds, why not Auction Finds. I go to about 3-5 auctions a week and they can be quite profitable.

Oh wow been longtime since seen that much Silver; but have had bigger finds (From Boxes), my biggest cold call find though was 419 %40's back in 09.
Happi huntin folks; last week was first week ordered Boxes (6), found 9 %40's a 2012 Silver proof and a 64; my pickup teller also saved and gave me a 64 dime and a 66 half too.

hahah i love the way you stacked it. you must feel like a rich king from medieval times hahah

DiverDown - incredible score!!!

Indeed "ITS OUT THERE"

Definatly out there ! CONGRATSS !!!!!! looks like you made a little profit there !!
Happy Hunting !

Diver Down,
Outstanding find! Always nice to score something that big when you least expect it. I wish you
had left the Fed rolls untouched as they may have been worth much more to collectors, but that's
okay. You now have a nice collection of high grade halves for yourself. "It's out there...and your
score proves I'm right." Congrats again.
all the best,
rileyboy
