I was in the field by 7:00 a.m. It was 27 degrees with high winds, and that made it quite a brisk morning. The first dig was a 1909 (no S and no VDB) Wheat. After that came a few surface finds, with the glass marble and the Clay marble. Next up to bat was the 1964 D silver Roosevelt. I thought this one to be odd, as I was searching a field where an 1878 homestead once stood, and it disappeared by 1940. The coin must have been a farmers drop. Also on the surface was a token which may be hard to identify. Its having a good soak now. Also found the clay pipe stem laying right on top. Last but not least - the cow or horse teeth ! Now how often do you find those ? It was kind of weird picking those up. I have hit this place a dozen times over the last 3 years. Thought I would hit it again, since the farmer turned the dirt over last Fall. Glad I did, as the finds are starting to dwindle.
