I had a pretty frustrating day at work yesterday, so when I saw the weather was going to be nice today, I took half a day off to do a little detecting. I went to one of my haunts and checked in with the groundskeeper. I started with my Whites machine and wasn’t long and pulled my first wheat. I was getting so many trash signals that I was getting a bit agitated. I then figured I would pull out the Ace 250 with the sniper coil and man am I glad I did. I started getting the coin signals in between the trash. I ended up with 3 Mercs(2-1936 and 1-1943) 10 Wheats, with the oldest I could read was a 1942 and a 1940 Silver Quarter. This was the best day I had finding silver in a long, long time. So for the non believers in the Ace 250 this will show that it can find the old silver coins..especially using the sniper coil. HH everyone and hope you find lots of treasures. Geeeezzz..and I almost forgot to add..I found my first Buff nickel...a 1936.

Thanks for trying to make me feel better. I actually almost gave up on the signal. I'm glad I kept at it.

Hi Randy:

You Rock Dude! I love those Merc's and way to go on the buffalo nickel too! I have been exchanging emails with an individual who use to live where I am now and they are living down in Florida now. Anyway they shared with me some good areas to hunt in my location where I can find some older stuff. The ground is still pretty hard up here but I know spring is just around the corner though and I can hardly wait to join the hunt.

I wear that silver ring on my hand that I found at the close of last year as a reminder that there are quality items to find. There is a place not far from my house where during the 1920's to 1940's use to see alot of activity for church socials and was also a parking spot for the young kids during the 50's to 70's. The parking area is closed off with a bunch of boulders and over grown with smaller trees but I am sure to find something when I go there, I can hardly wait though.

Now I am using my Fischer CZ-3D with a stock coil, do you think I should get a special coil for that area?

Sincerely,
Jeff :sunny:
