Today was one of those fun detecting days that are a rarity. It felt as if I could do no wrong. Trash was few and far between and old targets were plentiful. I finished the day with 12 pieces of silver. I thought I had 13, but one of the 3 crosses I found was silver plate.

Total Finds:
18 Wheats
2 Indian Heads
1 Silver Roosevelt(1946)
1 Silver Washington (1942)
6 Mercury Dimes (1917, 1918S, 1927, 1929, 1937, 1944)
2 Barber Dimes (1898, 1902)
2 Sterling Crosses
Gold Plated locket (I see no markings, so I assume it is plated)
Aluminum charm bracelet piece

Good finds! Great day!
If you want to find out if the locket is gold(plated), drop it into a glass jar containing enough household bleach to cover it. Dond worry, if it's gold, the bleach won't hurt it. If it is plated, the areas where the plating was disturbed, will "bubble" a little. You will also get a small amount of black residue covering the base metal. Unless the base metal is silver, which is highly unlikely. Good work! TTC

What a great (and inspiring) day!!! Congrats.... I can't wait to get a detector in my hands again!

Holy smokes..you did well!

Nice job

Yeah, I usually dig about 5-10 wheats per silver coin. The coins at this spot were super deep, that's why I think so many dimes were left. They were so deep and small that other machines just couldn't hear them at all. A shallow coin here was 7". Most were 8-10" deep.

That's awesome!! Love hearing those real deep signals. ::) I can tell from the lack of Rosies that your spot has been detected before. Congrats again!!

Yeah... it was obviously hit pretty hard in the past. They were nice enough to clean out all of the shallow clad to make my life easy. :)

wow...thats awesome!! The only thing that beats it is either finding more or the fact that there wasn't much trash. How was the ground? I hope it wasn't super hard at 8"

Some spots were really hard, others still pretty soft. My wrist is quite sore, though.

Oddly enough this is my 2nd 12 silver day of the year. I don't think I can top that, though. :)

Nice haul guy, I haven't had a day like that this year, but fall is coming, so I still have my hopes running high.

Congrats,

HH, Ringfinder

P.S.

Did you use a probe?

Yeah, I use a sunray inline probe. I couldn't have found these coins without it!
