silver shiny flakes?

I was out panning and had some flakes of shiny metal that was silver color but if you move pan around it loses its shine. Any ideas on what it would be? Thanks for any help

The shiny flakes are starting to get heavier as i go up stream but the size is not changing could this be something other then mica? Alot of them fall but i have 3-4 that stay at the top when rolling the pan to bring the light weight stuff down.

Black sand most likely. Sticks pretty good to the pans. Also its not rare and not valuable.

I have yet to find black sand in the area i am panning.
