These are some silver obsidian pieces I’ve found at various sites. I found my first piece when I was a kid and wasn’t quite sure what it was but I kept it. Many years later I found more that had been imported to sites along with other types. The geologic explanation for the sheen is the presence of gas and mineral inclusions that were trapped during the rapid cooling process of the silica material. Pretty cool that nature found a way to make silver looking volcanic glass.
