Tesoro Tejon, Garrett Ace 350.

All Treasure Hunting
I went south yesterday, since the ground here is frozen solid with another inch of snow on the ground this morning. I had a good day finding 324 coins (most in two years for one day), including 120 quarters and 111 dimes. I also found a silver mans CTR ring.
The unusual find was a one ounce silver round found on top of the ground. It had a buffalo nickel design. In 39 years of detecting, this is the only bullion coin I have ever found. It was only 20 feet from where I found my only whole roll of quarters in one spot. I'll be glad when this worthless winter is over....Kane 23

That is a phenominally large amount of clad for one day! I get a fraction of that!
Can you post pictures?

Ditto what BF said.

hey great luck on finding that sliver. sounds like a 2001 buffalo commemorative. i cant believe someone lost one of those. its a beutiful coin and worth well more than its original issue price according to the red book.

Kane, I don't know where you're hunting but I want to hunt there, too! WTG my man. Don't need to wish you luck, you have enough for all of us here. HH
Haven't seen numbers like that since Marine1111111 was on here a few months ago.

Sorry about no pictures,I feel like the lost boy down the street, I don't have a digital camera or a home computer, I post from the public library. As for the 324 coin day, I have found as many as 546 in one day, in 2000 I found 20,146 coins that year.I have found as many as 183 quarters and 174 dimes in a day. If you want a lot of coins, don't go to the park, go instead to high school football fields, middle school athletic areas etc. They are only hit a fraction as much as elementary schools and parks. If you want more dimes and quarters, discriminate out the nickels and zinc cents, they are a waste of time when looking for a bigger cash haul. I figure I've found close to 275,000 coins in 39 years of detecting. Back in the 90's I wrote a few articles for the Treasure magazines, but hav'nt for a long long time. Again I apologize for no pictures....Kane23

The silver round was not the Buffalo nickel dollar. It was a bullion coin made by a private mint. It has .999 fine one troy ounce on the Buffalo reverse and is larger than a silver dollar. Trying to chip coins out of the ice...Kane23

If he's talking pocket drops ,which it sounds as though he is ,that is not out of the realm of possibilities!!!I've put over 75.00 dollars in clad in 7 hrs before with silver and jewelry..There is virgin territory!!!! And he has 39 yrs. experience .He can probably run his machine while he's asleep.. 8) Nickel 67

I see that my previous post has been removed.....I guess if you don't post what the other members want to hear, you get censored. I used no profanity, or name calling, but whatever. I guess free thinking and not accepting every word as the gospel truth, is not allowed on this forum....

As Nickel 67 said, there are many places out there where many many coins can be found. If I could go from town to town every week I could find close to a thousand coins a week. I'm sorry so many people doubt without pictures, not much I can do about it. Also sorry there is censorship, some people can get really mean I guess. Frodov if you lived nearby I would be happy to take you with me....Kane23

I didn't see what was removed, most of the time, and like anywhere,
it ain't what you say, It's how you say it.
If enough time is spent poking around the forums, it's easy enough to figure out that this site is 99.99% mature adults and well raised young people.
I'd bet Kane would find more than most of us if he wasn't even using a detector, he probably just carries it as a prop, after 39 years probably doesn't need it, probably sees the coins before he hears the detector. I'd love to go with you too, be like going with a Zen Master.
Wonder if, with all the people here, we couldn't find a computer and camera for him so we could hear from him more often.

Way to go with the coin count. Sounds like a great day.

Sounds like someone was in doubt as to if he actually found that much in one trip. I do believe it because I have had some amazing coin counts around middle school and high school football fields. Quarters and dimes make up most of the count also. In fact, my biggest coin hauls come from a middle school football field. I have 31 years experience under my coil too. Getting permission to look the football fields is a bit tricky sometimes but well worth it. Way to go Kane23. Go get some more.
