I have a new site to hunt so I started there on Saturday. Is an old homeplace the next farm down from Ms. Flossie's. Started out there and only found modern change and one 1956 wheat. Didn't take long for the heat to spoil an otherwise nice day. :P After being there for about an hour I could hear the glorious sound of thunder and so I headed for the car. It rained for the next couple of hours and the rest of the day was way too nice to waste sitting inside so I decided to go back to Ms. Flossie's house. I spent my time in the front yard and glad I did! I found a silver ring! It doesn't have any writing on it but looks silver to me. ???

Re: Silver Ring

Nice finds and congrats on the silver! That date nail is a nice find but I'm not sure if it's 1827 or 1927? They are a big collectors item. HH, Mike

Great looking site...
Good luck next time out, & Happy hunting~

Re: Silver Ring

That ring looks nice. Thick band. The railroad spike with 27 on it is also a cool find.

I went back over to Ms. Flossie's yesterday all excited about finding the ring and hoping that it may have been hers. Drove up, got out and knocked on the door. She opens the door and invites me in. I say, "Ms. Flossie, while hunting Saturday I happen to find something that may be yours." I hold out my hand and show her the ring. "OH my goodness! Where did you find that!" she says. My heart was filled with joy to see that expression on her face. I tell her where it was found and ask her about the details on the ring...told her I had to hear the story on the ring so's I could share the story with you all. She said, "Well, the local barber in town was also the local jeweler. I can't recall what year it was, was so long ago, but my husband went down there and ordered two. One for me and one for him. I can't believe you found this!" She gives me a great smile and a big hug! I ask her if I could snap a picture of her to have to go along with the story. "Sure!" she says! So I get the picture and we chat a bit more and I carry on my way hunting the side yard that I hadn't got to the time before. Was out there for about an hour and look up to see her making her way towards me. Stop hunting and give her a big grin. She walks up and says..."I just have to tell you.....if I didn't my heart wouldn't be right. This here ring isn't mine. I went back and looked and found mine. But it looks just like mine!" She opens her hand and sure enough she has two rings that look alike..only difference being that the one I had found has a little flat spot on it. So she offers it back and says "You found this! I want you to keep it!" God Love Her....she's just the best. You know she could have just kept the ring and I would have never ever thought anything else about it. She is a true lady with a heart of gold and I am glad to know her.

Oh...and thanks for the replies yall!

I must admit....this website is a sure thing to make me happy!
I mean, the focus of it is finding stuff that makes people happy, and then stories like this are just the cat's meow!
