Well Folks, I had to burn up some vacation time, so I took 1/2 day off today and headed to my 1830 CW site again. I scored a Merc right off the bat so the pressure was off me. ;D
I worked the back yard area mainly since there are a ton of signals back there.
I have a couple of oddball pieces that need IDing if anyone wants to give it a shot.
Off to a new (100yr old) property tomorrow to give it a try. Only 45 degrees tomorrow. :'(
Here's my Friday's digs:

*Another 1943 Merc. (Did they make a bazillion of this year?)

*Wheats - 2 x 1944' , 45' , 50' , 52' , 58'.

* 2 x 1965 Quarters & one 1965 dime. So close too silver. :'( :'( :'(

*A musket ball.

*Relics: Brass bed knob , old spoon , lantern piece . "Princess Pat" cosmetic compact piece, etc.

*Two pieces of lead that look stuck together somehow. Could these be CW bullets of some sort?

*A cast iron piece with a viagra like protrusion sticking up. :o I dug this up out in the field.
CW related I hope. ::) Any idea what it could be?

Thanks for looking,
MM

Thanks Kirk.
My two brothers have me set up for counseling after that ordeal. I don't have a thing to wear though. :'(

Tev,
Any idea of the age? Early 1900's maybe?
Thanks,
MM

Yea i believe when i got it ided it was 1920ish.

I believe your "two pieces of lead" is actually a Williams Cleaner Bullet that has been very deformed by impact. Civil War soldiers were issued Williams cleaners to help scour out black powder deposits from their rifle barrels - the round disk on the back of your lead blob was the part that expanded into the rifling of the musket to clean it out. They were generally issued with one in each packet of ten cartridges that were issued to the soldiers.
