Silver quarter buy

Its about as good a deal as you are likely to find. I managed to find 4 rolls not too long ago for 14.5X face.

Whether or not we got a good deal will depend on the price of silver when we sell.

I agree that the strength of the deal depends on when you sell. I plan on holding for the long term so I think it was a decent deal. I had a $3.00 price on my Craigslist ad for a long time and got no bites.

For only 10 of them gasoline, time, whatelsenot, was not worth it, (WITH SILVER VALUES CURRENTLY GOING DOWN) I.M.H.O. If silver was on the rise like it was a few months back, then yes, it would be worth it. 100 of them, and turning around and selling it, now that a different story. Your lucky your ongoing ad does not get flagged, they ALWAYS get flagged for me yo.

When I buy from friends I pay melt. You paid about 80% to a stranger which I think is fair.

I thought it was a fair price too. Also on the time & gas issue. I met the guy at a business 5 minutes from my house. So the whole transaction took 15 minutes & hardly any gas in my Lexus Hybrid so that isn't an issue for me! :icon_thumleft:

well, 15 minutes of free time to me, is worth some serious dough, but i can see if you were enthused about the whole deal, good for you homie.

but a hybrid
:dontknow: i got a grudge against them.

I have to know why - why would you have a grudge against a hybrid? Nice tax break, high mileage, spending a few less dollars on oil, that is not the pump price but the real cost. Though I did hear a funny one today that one state is going to start adding an extra tax to hybrid cars as they don't pay enough gasoline taxes now...:BangHead:

Always cracks me up when people tell me they spent $40k on a hybrid to save on gasoline costs. My Ford pickup may only get 15 mpg, but the payments ended a long time ago.

Dude! It takes more than 15 minutes to search a box of dimes and dump them. At least he got a little less than 2 oz for $40

I know Jim. I hate getting 40+ mpg! It sucks. Plus it's a sweet ride to boot! To each their own though.

Hey everyone, I own a civic hybrid and it has been serious trouble. It has a cvt transmission that has been repaired once now may be going out again. Cost of repair exceeds the value of the car. It is the first and last hybrid I will ever buy. And the value of it in good condition is only about half of a regular civic...no savings all said and done. I will be dumping this thing pile of crap as soon as I can.
