Hey all,

Me and the guys made it back to the colonial spot where we've found a bunch of coppers the last two weeks and I dug another large cent. Later on Paco and I headed to the 1830's B&B where I got the seated quarter last week. I got a jumpy hit that was reading all over the place, dug down and pulled the first coin out - Barber Quarter - I ran over to show Paco and he noticed the coin mark on it and said "there's another coin in the hole that was laying on this one!" Excitedly we went back and I found the 1914 Wheat Penny in the dirt. While pouring the dirt back in the hole Paco yelled as he saw the Barber Dime fall back in. I swept the hole again and pulled out the Standing Liberty Quarter! What an awesome dig!

Now the Barber dime is pretty special - I've been hunting for over 25 years and have found just about every coin there is but have NEVER EVER found a barber dime! It's become the joke of our group - I mean it's weird I've pulled bust, seated, colonial, spanish, you name it but I've never ever found a barber dime - that is until today!

Thanks for looking!

Great finds! Sounds like you got some excellent spots. Congrats and HH.

What's up Big Guy. You looked pumped as usual. :tongue3:
Way to go on those awesome coins Dude. :occasion14: Don't feel bad, I can't find a Barber quarter to save my life.
What ever happened to those two PA clowns Kirk & Kyle. Did the Amish mafia run them out of PA? :laughing7:
Nice "wilver".

Can we see a close up of that SLQ? The 1918-s can have a 7 over the 8 and be worth big bucks?

Killer spill!

Took me a while to find the first Barber dime too, for some reason. Congrats on the pocket spill, very cool.

Say hi to Kirk & Kyle for me also. Seen Kirk pop in here periodically to beat on Iron Patch :laughing7:, but I haven't seen any other posts lately.

Killer stuff you guys find. The LC's are few and far between in this area of TN. Seldom see or hear of one dug. No doubt we were settled much later but still well within the range. The area I have hunted for over a year settled in about 1805 and became a town in 1812. Tons of flat buttons and early relics with a few CW relics as well. Literally NO coins from the era and some of the home sites are no doubt virgin. I did get a 1907 barber a few weeks ago. You Yankees must have kept all the coins up there. Congrats:icon_thumleft:

that's really strange about the LC's ?? I would think TN would have it's fair share for sure, but I'd take a barber half any day of the week.

thanks all for the comments - vp

Proof! That if one just stays at it long enough, any coin is possible.

WTG!

Congrats on your silver finds, you've just raised the bar a notch!

Nice spill, I have the same problem finding the common stuff too. Never found a walking half, I never found a SLQ but I have found a Flying Eagle cent and I have found 24k gold and I have found a 1876 CC seated dime. I'm not complaining though, everyone else can have the common stuff I'll keep digging the rare stuff. :laughing7:

Keep @ it and HH !!
