I started out at a site I found on a 1930 Sanborn map that I overlayed onto a present day google earth pic. There used to be 9 houses here but only two remain. Got there only to find it practically impossible to get to from the heavy growth. Bummer. So back to Silver park I go. They just mowed the grass so I saw it as a opportunity to get as close to the growth around the perimeter of the park. Wound up with a pretty worn 1938 quarter, then a 1941 Merc with a 37 wheatie in the same hole. Also a 1924, 42, and 46 wheats. Prior to doing the perimeter I was digging tons of old style pulltabs and found a no date buffalo. The cross I thought was silver because I saw Italy marked on it but it's not. Also a cool button and a mashed up sterling ring. I'd much rather come home with these kinda finds than a pouch full of clad. Oh yeah stepped in some real stinky poo towards then end of the hunt. :-[

Great hunt Mike. Nice variety of finds. I'm heading out tomorrow. Hopefully I can do half as good as that. Congrats!

Excellent finds, better than I've been doing in the last few weeks ;) For the other property, where there is a will there is a way ::) Find out who the owner(s) is and work something out, maybe you could even clear it out yourself, then have the exclusive privilege to clear it out all by yourself....if you know what I mean ;D All the hard work could pay off big. But then again :-\ its a gamble, question is ??? is it worth it to you. I wish you all the luck in the world, and hope you find some really good-here sing it as Berle Ives***** SILVER AND GOLD ;D Ed

That park just keeps on giving. A rare thing nowadays. What kind of machine are you using?

If you say a Minelab Explorer SE I am selling a kidney tomorrow.
I use a Troy Shadow X2 with the 9" spider coil.

WTG Mike on the finds. The cross you found looks similar to the one I found a few weekends ago hunting an old army fort here in Alabama.
