This is a rock that I found with my metal detector at the highest sensitivity and highest discrepancy possible. It was ~4-5 inches deep. It was found near the back of a subdivision pond.

Does anyone know what type of rock this is, or how to clean it to make it shine more. I already scrubbed it with a toothbrush and dish soap.

Thanks for looking.

It isn't magnetic.
It is semi-hard. I can scrape it with a knife, it is shinny silver underneath.

Judging by the photos, it looks like burned soda cans glob, but I'm not looking at it in person, so I can't say for sure. Scrape it and see if it is shiny like aluminum. WELCOME to the forum. :) Breezie

Thanks. I think you are correct.

I filed the top and broke it in a vice.
