Been hunting the bahamas for relics and hit some fused conglomerate from an old house that burnt and fell into the sea....I've found some good stuff over the years here from time to time but I've always been looking for the rumored silverware here !! Well I've finally started to find some after a couple years of poking around. Today I got a heavy ladle handle in silver along with a large conglomerate that has a silver spoon bowl and a mystery piece of inscribed silver !! The pictured pieces are only a few of what I found but have definitely got silver locked inside 20200223_134635.jpg

You can see a large silverware handle in the first pic and the large silver conglomerate next to it.20200223_134722.jpg in this chunk you can see the decorative silver spoon bowl exposed in this clump. 20200223_134703.jpg
Heres the inscribed piece that came out of this silver clump20200223_134656.jpg

I cant make out what it once said but it does have a patent also at the top of the tag.

This was a deep hit that turned out to be a Revlon compac from the 50s.20200223_155228.jpg
In this video I had just dug it and had not reached the HEAVY LAYER yet !!
20200223_124022.jpg heres my co worker digging with me on her day off...she did good with the carrot pin pointer and actually dug a nice bottle while digging in the iron layer today !!20200223_124016.jpg20200223_124137.jpg
Here's some of the iron trash we cleared away to get to the heavy (silver)layer today !! Check out the video.....the nox is a beast at looking through the iron !! There's more there.....I wanted to dig more but to be honest I cut my finger on glass while digging and had to stop !! Happy hunting everyone and good luck.

Such an amazing trip you are having Bart and the finds look great as well. :notworthy:

Yup....its been fun so far.....the boss came out to dig with me yesterday for a bit. When the weather won't let us fish everyone wants to come on my adventures with me. I was digging for an hour and then the whole crew came to dig with me and hang out. It's hard to believe I'm on a working trip sometimes !! I'm sure not gonna sit in the house and watch a movie because it's to windy to fish.....life is to short to watch movies when your in the bahamas....I can do that back at home in the U.S. I'm trying to seize every minute I can for my passions.....all my co workers know that I'll have something planned for every minute of free time I get. That attitude and passion is catchy and I love to get people inspired to do things they normally wouldn't be doing. Everyone had a blast and I did my job and kept everyone entertained on a day when it was to windy to fish or use the boat. Woooo hoooo....its better in the bahamas like the commercial says !!

Thanks casper......not your typical Atlantis resort hunt... huhh !!

Looks like my kind of spot too! Very cool adventure for sure..Best to you ..Blak Bart the Pirate!

Be interesting to see if you could find any old pictures or aerials of the spot in it's day.

I'm hoping for some gold to be trapped in some of this conglomerate OBN....maybe theres a gold ring hiding in there ?? Found some glasses hiding in one piece. 20200223_134640.jpg

Looks like "Let lie i' the earth".

Looks like "Let lie i' the earth".

Your right TooManyHobbies.....its a quote from hamlet. How long will a man lie in I earth ere he rot. I think I got that right. Here he is all cleaned up hall Mark's and all.20200224_155550.jpg
Here is an image of hamlet holding a skull.

Here is the other side with the quote and hallmarks. I have no idea what the purpose of this silver item was used for.....perhaps a book mark or something ?? But it's a great little silver relic and I'm happy to have found it !!

Hard to get a good pic in this light.....you have to open the image all the way to see it best.

Very interesting! I would think there is enough info on the piece to find out exactly what it is and where it may have come from?

Thanks georgivs !!

EQ8....I'm sure once I get my search wording right I'll get some results....silver hamlet figure with quote got me nothing close. I've got to get working on the clumps and see what's in there next...had to work on the boat today, so I'll try and free up that spoon bowl next.

This is awesome. Congrats to you.

Beautiful spot to hunt too. It’s rainy and 40s here.

Best of luck, can hardly wait to see what you get next.

Thanks for the link EQ8.....I've got to get in there and clean up the hall Mark's a little better and itll come together for an ID. I've definitely never seen anything like it....its a strange little piece !!

Congrats on some great finds Blak bart and continued success to you!

Hey thank you carolina tom. I'm definitely having a good time on my days off. Fishing has been good when I'm working and we've caught some good fish so far. 20200214_160244.jpgFullSizeR(2).jpg
