silver in car batteries

I guess I forgot to imply that it might be a train battery? Like because I found it right next to the tracks but also along with trains I think tanks and all kinds of modern stuff t use silver oxide batteries today so I appreciate the scepticism but not really

The largest application I found for them is torpedo's. Your picture sure looked like a lead anode. I can see how you could have melted it with a torch if it was lead. If you really got that much for the anodes you found, I think you were able to fool the person working at the gold buying place.

Lead can be melted with a propane torch. Silver no. Your heading did say car batteries.

I see modern plates from a VRLA battery. looks like an AGM type, which is technology that is around 50 years old, or whenever Sear Diehard came out.
