🥇 BANNER Silver hoards from Romania!

sssooooo next time in in Romania im bring my gear and im going to give you a call. they want to keep 70% then tax you on the remaining 30%? thats crazy dont give them anything. dont even post a picture of your face. im half Romanian. i guess its better than when the communists were in charge. my mother lived there whey the overthrew (killed) the royal family. ive gotten to go to Eforia, Constanta, Bucharest, and Bran Castle. Romania is awesome. when i first went there as a kid the streets in the small town of Eforia were not even paved. they have come a long way in the last 20 years.

Great find! Absolutely incredible.

The rule about turning over the treasure should be that you give them the treasure only after it has been appriased and you've received your check. ;)

It could even be turned over to a 3rd party in the meantime so you don't cut and run. :D

Can you get a lawyer or something? A small amount of those coins will pay for one.. ??? I'd fight tooth and nail to get a share of those coins !! :dontknow: Man, I don't think I'd even hunt if they did that to me... Tell them to get a detector and find their own :censored: 4,000 year old coins !! :BangHead: We feel for you sorry your not getting what you deserve so far.... :sadsmiley: Amazing find, congratulations on banner... Sometimes the thrill of the hunt is valuable enough.

Keep @ it and HH !! :hello2:

Everything has already been said, but wow, those are incredible finds. That is what treasure hunting is all about. I sincerely hope the Romanian government gives you your due. I can only imagine that feeling of discovery. Congrats!

I have read and reread this thread and I am still blown away. That is super fantastically awesome, just to say something that hasn't been said. Well Done

My wife is Romanian and I've spent some time there...incredible history. The oldest European bones have been found in Romania. Dacians...Celtic Tribes...Romans...Turks have all been through there. The Govt. should really give finders their reward or people simply won't report what they find and some fantastic treasures will just disappear into the blackmarket. Britain has realized this but countries like France haven't. Congratulations on you fantastic find. I believe those coins are very rare and valuable with that "celtic" horse design.

The horseman is not quite celtic. They are less then 100 coins discovered like those we found on sunday...the specialists belive is the thracian knight or mabe the "olimpic knight". Others belive it represents the thraco-dacian godess Bendis, the godess of nature, night, forest. It is not yet clear because the Dacians have left few written records.

That is absolutely unfair. I sure hope he "dropped" a few of those coins on the way back to the truck. Yeah more I think about it.....that ticks me off. I'm callin' Romania.

What's their number? They are going to give that man his 30%.

They do not want a worked up redneck from Texas on the phone.

They should give him 60%, those coins would still be in the ground if it was not for him! Anyone in the mood for a long distance call??

Amazing! Congrats my friend. It's a real bummer that you just put in all of that hard work to make these amazing discoveries and now you have to fight like crazy to just get a small cut that gets taxed like crazy. Id like to say I'm surprised but im not at all. If you find another one maybe you should keep it and tell the govt they already got their share with the first two :laughing7: just kidding I would never condone anything illegal :wink::wink::wink::wink::wink::tongue3:

I think that I have broken the once! apparently that 1965 penny I found needs to stay in the ground for the "professionals" to deal with (though the 1966 penny is fine). I think that "50 year" rule that some archaeologist made is stupid.

:oThat does it, I am moving to Europe!Holy cow:o!I would like to just find one of those coins:oThat is just absolutely incredibly amazing.

This site has some coins similar to the ones you found and they do label them "Celtic"....Early European migration is quite fascinating and I'm sure there is still much research to be done. Again congratulations...Did it make the news in Romania?

You got that right! Just let them have all of the 50+ year old Jock Straps or Feminine Napkins you find.:laughing7: Anyone know of any Disposal Landfills that were filled and closed in the 60's??:laughing1:

Great finds! As great as the first one is, I love the second find. About time the government writes you a check. Crap like that is why there is a "don't say nuthin'" rule among treasure hunters. Bad enough they are going to tax the crap out of it, but they want to take the whole thing and leave you with nothing? Anyway, you have had two really memorable finds, and nobody can take the joy and memories of that!

Wow, wow, wow amazing finds... is all I can say! :headbang: :laughing7:

Congratulations!
